We unfortunately will not be back - the service wasn’t great and the food wasn’t either. Such a shame! We wanted to love this place, especially as I love black bears and loved the idea of the theme of this diner. So after the not so nice dinner, I skipped it. I already decided before we got there that I wanted the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, however when we arrived I saw one little slice on a plate wrapped in cling film - it looked old. It tasted like processed Turkey that had just been left to sit out for a while (hence the dry edges) then placed in a microwave to heat up.ġ mouthful down and we were done with the Turkey. It took longer for the drinks to be made than the Turkey dinners.ĭon’t be fooled by the pictures advertised… the Turkey doesn’t look like that! It was 4 thick uneven shaped slices that looked like they came out of a can! The edges looked dry and the whole lot was just rubbery. The salad was lovely, the cornbread muffin too. To start was a salad with cornbread muffin. We both decided on the Turkey dinner, with mash potato and green beans. Our drink order was taken but we waited about 10 minutes for them to arrive. We waited around 10 minutes to be seated. My husband and I were looking forward to trying this diner for an evening meal. Thanks to our positive experience here, I plan to look for more Black Bear Diners when we travel. There's a cute little gift nook by the checkout where you can purchase Black Bear diner products like coffee mugs and black bear stuffed toys, along with a small bakery case if you just want to stroll in at the end of the day and pick up a piece of pie or cheesecake.īlack Bear Diner is a chain that was started in the PNW and now has many franchises. Wait staff was outstanding, friendly, and attentive. Portions were large and eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, ham, were all top quality, well-prepared and served hot. there for dinner, but every time we drove by near dinnertime, the parking lot was packed, so I have to assume that dinner was great, too. After the first breakfast, we were hooked & returned a few more times. Terrific breakfasts - we stayed at a neighboring hotel that did not have an on-site restaurant, so Black Bear Diner was our go-to for breakfast for several days.
